About Knox

The Dr. Owen Lloyd Knox Elementary School is a Public School Choice site operated by Local District South. The school is named in honor of educator and public school advocate Dr. Owen Lloyd Knox. The new school opened its doors to students on September 13, 2010 and relieves overcrowding at six neighborhood campuses: 75th Street Elementary School, 93rd Street Elementary School, Manchester Elementary School, South Park Elementary School, Harte Prep Middle School and Bethune Middle School. 

The school is housed on 4.76 acres of land and is approximately 78,915 square feet. School facilities include 42 new classrooms, a library, multi-purpose room, food service area and lunch shelter, administrative offices, play fields and underground parking.
